Our Dance Classes
Kicks Dance Studio offers a range of dance styles, including creative movement, jazz, hip hop, tap, ballet/lyrical, combo classes and yoga for dancers age 2-99.
We offer a unique dance studio experience that values community, support for caregivers, and nurturing a love for movement and creative expression through dance. It is important to us that all dancers feel valued and welcome and that we instill confidence and joy in young children in any path they choose to take as they grow. We prioritize kindness and a laid-back environment that does not require a dress code for a truly inclusive experience. We hope to offer competitive dance opportunities in the future and plan to offer performance opportunities to all dancers throughout the year.

The Legacy
of Kicks
If you grew up dancing in Santa Fe, chances are you remember stepping into Kicks on Guadalupe Street for your first leotard, tights, or pair of dance shoes. That beloved shop was originally owned and operated by Kicks Dance Studio Owner, Hannah McDowell's mother-in-law, Peggy McDowell, and later carried on by our “Grandmatine,” Jil McGurn.
Though Peggy is no longer with us, her spirit, love of dance, and commitment to community live on. Naming our studio Kicks is a way to honor her legacy and celebrate the generations of dancers who passed through those doors.
Voices of Our Community
From day one, Hannah had such a warm, patient way of making the kids feel comfortable and excited to learn. She’s incredible with little ones and truly helps them build confidence while having fun.

I love dance camp because we get to dance and play every day. My teachers are nice and I like making new friends. Dance camp makes me happy!
Teddy O., Student
We learn cool moves, dance to fun music, and the teachers make everyone feel strong even if it's out of my comfort zone! I feel proud when I learn something new.
Elena R., Adult Beginner
Hannah was my son’s first teacher, and I will always be grateful for how she showed up for him. With a speech delay, inclusion mattered deeply. She made my son feel confident and welcomed, and she made me feel safe leaving him in her care.
